A Sunset Engagement Session at Bamford Edge
By Joe Hall | UK Documentary Wedding and Elopement Photographer
In September of last year, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to photograph an engagement session in the Peak District National Park. As a Sheffield-based wedding photographer, I have spent plenty of time over the last few years exploring and scouting out all of the perfect couple session spots that the Peak District has to offer. Quite rightly then, I was over the moon to have the chance to shoot an engagement session in one of my favourite areas. As Gareth and Jasmine wanted to head out for a sunset shoot, we opted to visit the very popular and well-known spot - Bamford Edge. For those that haven’t visited Bamford Edge, the start of the hike is pretty steep and can put most people off, but once you manage to get up to the flatter ground, the walk from there is much more enjoyable. We got incredibly lucky with a stunning sunset that night, which made for some truly beautiful photos.
One of the main reasons that I absolutely love these couple sessions, and in particular this shoot at the end of last year, is because it allows me to connect and form a friendship with the couple before the wedding. Gareth and Jasmine were an absolute pleasure to photograph, and I am very much looking forward to capturing their wedding this summer!
