Kinmount House Relaxed & Intimate Wedding | Scottish Borders | Lorna & Sam
Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of being able to capture Lorna & Sam’s beautiful wedding at Kinmount House, just over the Scottish border in Annan. Lorna & Sam both had a pretty relaxed morning, with them both getting ready on the estate with their closest friends. Lorna’s hair was done by Channelle Marshall, and her beautiful flowers by Blossom & Bloom. Just before Sam left for the ceremony, he managed to squeeze in a little bit of time in the ‘Billiards Room’, one of the most iconic in the house. Meanwhile, Lorna had the best first look with all of her bridesmaids, being able to share this precious moment before making her way to the ceremony.
They opted to have their ceremony at Dalswinton Barony Church, not too far from Annan. Having their ceremony at this location meant a huge deal to these two, and having a close friend being able to lead the service made it even more special. Heading out of their ceremony, they had a quick confetti run in a gap in the rain, before heading back to Kinmount House for the rest of their celebrations. They had a lovely drinks reception in the main hall, before having some family photos in the outside archway. Following a lovely dinner and some hilarious speeches, it was time for a Ceilidh. Shore Road Band were incredible, and made sure that these guys had the best evening ever.
From my first few chats with Lorna & Sam, we spoke about how they really wanted a relaxed and intimate wedding. With most of my couples, they don’t feel super comfortable being in front of camera, and so I really focus on documenting the day in an unobtrusive way, that best tells the story of them, and their wedding day. I’m excited to share a selection of my favourites below.
